Hi I'm a newbie in need

Hi all, I'm a newbie to this site so please excuse me while I bumble along. I was diagnosed with Crohns disease 19 years ago, and so far have managed quite well. I am at the moment waiting to have my third Adalimumab injection though to be totally honest I am not looking forward to it. It leaves me very weak and breathless etc so am not sure if they are going to continue. Can anyone tell me or send me a link to any site that provides information on how to obtain a "credit card type" pass card that informs store owners of an urgent medical need to use their facilities. Ive heard they are available but no one I speak to seems to know where to get them.

Hi Lilysmummy and welcome,

I am in New Zealand and when I was in hospital I was given an education pack which included a card to prsent in emergencies. You can definately get them in the US as well. So, depending on where you are from there will likely be a local support organisation you can contact. Or, maybe ask at the hospital since that's where I got mine.

Are you in the UK? There's the NACC in the UK, you may contact them and see. I know the CCFA in the US has them, if I recall and the NACC is the UK version. Then there's the CCFC in Canada.

I have seen the iphone also has a crohn's application with a "Can't Wait Card" application on it....
