I was diagnosed last Thursday with Colitis, I've not yet been told what type. It has taken 3 months to get to this stage with various symptoms from bleeding, diarrhoea, abdominal pains & sickness. I've not had great feedback from my hospital and had to go back to my GP after a nasty flare up last Sunday. He prescribed me some steroids to hopefully get me through but my next appointment with the consultant is not until 1st Feb! The problem being is I'm a self employed musician/singer with a young family and it's very worrying to not have yet discussed any treatment. It will be over four months in total till this happens, hopefully. I'm watching what I eat and keeping off dairy but I've no idea what has caused the disease, I'm also taking aloe & probiotics. Any support or advice would be very grateful as I have gigs all over Christmas & New Year. Kind regards, Chris.

Have you tried a food diary to see what foods upset your stomach? Can you call your doctor's office and ask them to pencil you in if they have any cancellations? I was thinking as I was typing this that you might want to stay with bland foods until they can get you on medication.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I've tried to call the Dr but the consultant is on leave, I'll get on a cancellation list as soon as I can. Food diary is a good ide I have started noting down food and keeping to bland eating. It's most definitely worse mornings and settles after the steroids, this is a worry as I only have a few days left on them so I expect the pain to return with interest! Kind regards, Chris.
