Hi, I'm 19 and i've had crohn's for almost 2 years now. I've been looking for a place to openly discuss my experience so far along with others experiences.
To be honest, having this disease has taught me alot. I grew up thinking I was incincible and nothing could ever hurt me, and look at me now! Constantly having to watch what I eat and drink, losing a bunch of weight, then gaining it back. It has ruined a lot of experiences for me already. right before prom, I gained almost 30 pounds, and my dress didnt fit anymore I can't drink, it's ruined the most part of my teenage years. I feel like i'm forced to grow up when i'm not yet ready... For the first 6 months since i was diagnosed, it was weird, watching what i ate, to see what i reacted differently to, but, pain wise, it was pretty good, I didn't get much pain. Then out of nowhere, I started getting horribly sharp pains, my back started hurting. This happened everyday multiple times, for about 8 months! It was a terrible experience.. Now, it's not that bad. I know what I can and cannot eat. I know what to do if it gets worse.
I was just curious about other's story's. Similar or differernt. I've never had a chance to talk to anyone who actually understands what i'm going through
