hi new here, this is my story.

Hi there people.

Im Jamie from south Australia. 26 male.

From memory I started feeling sick at least 5 years ago with dhyarea and crippling pain in my lower left abdomen. I went to my gp (general practitioner) he put me on gastrostop tablets which helped controller the excessive watery stools although it was a fine line with the tablets between very loose and constipation.

He sent me to a gastroenterologist who did a colonoscopy and endoscopy supposedly. He found nothing which I was not happy with the diagnosis of ibs.

Then a friend of mine with chrones recommended there gi as he had helped alot. Months later I got in to see him, he did both cameras again and found I was lactose intolerant which I had worked out myself for many years. He also removed a few pollitsx same diagnosis of ibs tho and said continue with gastrostop.

That was a fwe years ago.

Around 2 years ago I stopped working as I and my work couldn't handle me being on the toilet with the runs for 5 to 10 times a day.

I recently started seeing a new gp and when I told him about my symptoms he said I think it's chrones, wow a doc who thinks what I think. He sent me for a heap of blood tests and gave me some pills called pyralin. He said come back in a week. Went and saw him blood tests are all in the normal limits. But from day 2 of pyralin wow dhyarea has gone, he said I defiantly have some form of ibd.

He has referred me to a new gastroenterologist who is supposedly very thorough. I hope so.

I have found if I don't have the tablets everything I eat im back to the loo. So see the new guy in 2 months and I hope I get a diagnosis soon after.

Also forgot to add I saw a naturopath roughly 6 months ago who did a fixative stool test and it came back im not processing protein and veggies so she put me on some protein digestive tablets which are working well with the pyralin.

Sorry it's a long post but im sure alot of u are in the same boat.

Ide appreciate any comments or suggestions.

I just thought of more stuff lol

My biggest problem now is that even with my stomach feeling alot better I am struggling so bad every day with no energy at all, is this common, anyone have suggestions to give me some energy?

Im exhausted that.much that even getting up and having a shower I need to do nothing for a few hours after.

i hate being fobbed off with IBS, i hope your new gastro helps a bit better than your previous ones.
im currently undiagnosed too.. and im having my first colonoscopy on 6th february.

but welcome to the forum! everybody is lovely :) and i hope you get some answers soon x

Hi Jamie and :welcome: Lets hope the new guy gets things sorted out for you. Whilst you wait for the appt it is perhaps worth going back to your GP and request that you have your vitamin levels checked, it is common for people with IBD's to be vitamin deficient, especially B12 and D. A common side effect of a B12 deficiency is fatigue.... If this came back as low it would be another indicator to take to the doc and once you got treatment for it you should hopefully feel better. Tiredness can also be a symptom of active IBD. I hope this helps and please keep us updated on how you get on.

Thanks guys, I had a bit of a look around last night and I am so happy to have found this place as everyone is so supportive. I find myself alot of the time thinking I just wish someone could actually understand what im talking about. You all know how it is! No matter how much your friends say I understand they don't and truely never will unless they get one of these horrible diseases.

Im paying for eating naughty yesterday just woke up in agony and had to run, only positive is it was not completely water yet. Lol sorry buy im sure you all understand the frustration!

Also I only had a blood test recently 2 weeks ago and they are all normal atm but for about the last year my vit d was low for some reason.
