Hi,
My name is Andrea. I am 28. I was diagnosed with Chron's in October of 2009. My journey has been short in comparison to most. in May 2008 I got nodular Scleritis and uveitis in my eyes. That continued for a while and after a lot of blood test and a biopsy all that turned up was I was very inflamed but I had no other real symptoms so I was given steroid eye drops. In July of 2009 I got very bad acid relux and went to a GI. He did a lot of test and only test me for chron's because of my eyes and i was anemic despite being on iron. After being diagnosed I started to have back and rib pain. I was sent to a rheumatologist who diagnosed me with reactive arthritis/spondylitis caused by chron's. Next week i should be starting Humira.
I actually joined the forum because i saw some one post about having rib pain and having issues with her GI and I want to suggest that she try a rheumatologist.
I've never been part of a forum before.

Hi, Andrea, and welcome! I hear ya about the anemia despite being on iron. What a pain!

Welcome Andrea!

I'm also new here (never been part of a forum before), and we have a somewhat similar history: I'm 27, was hospitalised in October 2009 for the first time (my diagnose was then Ulcerative Colitis, but they changed it to Crohn's in January), and my problems also started as eye problems a few months earlier. Still no doctor has picked up on the link between my eye infections and Crohn's, so I really hope they will soon, as it is so annoying and I don't get any help for it. :)

The rib pain you describe, what is it like?

Best of luck to you on the Humira, and let us know how it goes. I'm not familiar with it, but would love to hear if you have any effect so that maybe I can suggest this to my doctor too. :)

Hugs!

Hi Andrea and :welcome:

Glad you could join us. I hope things work out for you.

Take care,
Dusty
