Good Morning. I don't know what is going on with me but I am thinking it is Crohn's or something similar to it. I have had problems for 2 1/2 yrs. I was just back in the ER on Monday with being sick for 5 days. I am still sick. I have near passing out and blacking out experiences. GI dr just said I had IBS but FP says I have Dumping Syndrome. No one has ever tested my stool. I had a CT scan of my abdomen 2 yrs ago and it was normal. I also had a upper GI and colonoscopy and of course both normal. For as sick as I get I can't believe it is just dumping syndrome? I am going back to my GI dr this afternoon. I went to my holisitic dr yesterday and he said kidney?? It is very frustrating. I have to keep eating to try and maintain my endurance during the day and that doesn't always help. It just got worse 8 days ago and still ongoing problems. I don't have any pain but do have nausea, lightheadedness, no appetite, near passing out, fatigue, heart palpitations (Heart normal too), sweating, shaky feeling. All blood work has been normal too so while at the ER they just give me IV fluids and send me on my way. :sign0085:

I'm not a doctor but in my experience nausea/lightheadedness/loss of appetite/sweaty/shakiness (collectively that's all called diaphoretia) often accompanies some sort of an infection. I'd push for a stool culture, at least. How about a lumbar puncture to check for meningitis? Blood tests/cultures?

I'm just throwing stuff out, here.

Thanks Muppet for the info. They did all of the blood work and does not show anything re. infection. I get the shakes after I eat...from the dumping syndrome. Has been that way for the last 2 1/2 yrs. But since last Wed night everything has intensified. Normally I can control it and have been able to do so for awhile until this exaserbation. I started back on my nutritional products so hopefully they will help in the near future.

What nutritional supplements/products are you using? Are you certain that something herbal isn't causing or exacerbating your diaphoretia? There's a few supplements you could overuse that could cause that, or you might have a bad reaction to one.

so true about the supplements - when I was a trauma therapist - many people attempted to heal from Saint Johns Wort and Ginseng - and many other herbal remedies - I'm not saying they don't work - however - they can build up in your system and cause toxicity - the St Johns Wort can destroy your liver - it can be very harmful also if the herbal supplements do not co-exist well with Rx medications which can also cause dizziness, slurred speach - this is how a person knows they are toxic - whether herbal or Rx. Good luck - so happy that you shared and are taking care of yourself. Lynne

Hi and welcome! I am so sorry to hear you haven't been well for so long, and you haven't been getting any answers. I agree with muppet to push for a stool sample to check for any infection. Along with the symptoms you listed, do you have any issues with your bowels?

Hi and thanks for all of your replies! I just restarted my nutritional supplements this week on Tuesday so I know that isn't it. I actually restarted them at the request of my Family Dr. She thinks they are the best answer for me.

It gets so old trying to pinpoint what is wrong. I did go to my GI today and they are finally doing additional testing - 24 hr urine and a few more blood tests from a neuro/endro standpoint. My holistic dr feels it is kidney related? But again who knows.

They have dx me with IBS but then again isn't everyone? I have no pain whatsoever. My more concern is the lightheadedness and feeling like I'm going to pass out and this has been going on for about a year. And it all has to do with what I eat and how I digest it. I'm not sure how else to describe it??

Thanks again for all of your help!
