My girl had a Hickman at 7 months and then another one at 8 months that had to be removed a few months later due to infection. I didn't like that type of line at all since the tubes were being accidentally pulled in her sleep and she could bleed at night, clots were regularly forming, the adhesives were causing sores on her skin, we couln't get it wet, etc.
She needs a cvc again and will be getting a port tomorrow. We think it would be better for her. Any experience with ports on toddlers?

There are definitely parents on here whose kids have had PICC lines but can't think of anyone with a port.

Just got back from surgery, the port is in with the needle but hasn't been used yet. Dd briefly opened her eyes really wide and then stared intensely into nothing, which scared us a lot. Now she's asleep and recovering. Once we have some port experience I will update in case someone else is considering one.
