So I started my loading dose last Friday, whilst also being on 100mg of Imuran, and 20 mg of pred.

I had also had a small bowel enteroscopy the day before my first injections that had been complicated by the prep getting stuck on a stricture. Well he couldnt get to where my stricture is because of inflammation lower in my illeum when the stricture is in my jejnum...but thats a whole different story!! I was in a bit of pain from that let me tell you.

My main question is this I am soooooo tired. I am slowly able to get out of bed again but for the first couple days after my injection I was really really exhausted. The imuran has made me tired for a while but nothing like this. Today I was able to get away with only a 3 hour nap, but completely unable to get out of bed before yesterday. Has anyone else had this happen? I am wondering if its from the procedure or the drugs. I go in to see my GI doc Thursday because he is concerned about more belly swelling but I just was curious if anyone else was like me.

I have had no injection site rashes or bruising nothing else just very very tired.

It could be both. You've been through a lot; crohns, meds, procedures and pain. I think your body needs the rest. lol I have been on Humira for two years and still require down time every day. Three or four hours of activity and I can power snooze for 20 minutes or drop for three hours, I never know which its going to be until I wake. My Dr. says (imagine scottish brogue) "My dear, you have a most terrible disease, of course you are tired-sleep". Hopefully when the inflammation and other symptoms subside your energy will return.

I hope it eases up so I can manage a short nap per day. I have two kids who are still to young for school so I have to try to get my energy level up somehow. Right now I have people coming to help me care for them and myself thankfully. I just cant keep this up forever though, I will have to come up with alternate arrangements for child care or something. I do hope it calms down a bit though.

I had small kids during a few of my bad flares and my husband worked late at night. When I needed down time the kids and I would go into my room with books, crayons paper etc and a cartoon channel on low. I put the bed on the floor- easy for my baby to get up and down. Its amazing how much rest I was able to get!

I hope you can manage that and you feel better soon!

Lauren

The bed on the floor is a wonderful idea! I am going to do that this weekend; I never would have thought of that.

My Humira shots make me exhausted for about 2.5 days. It's the pits!

(And I love the bed on the floor! Doing this is almost as good as taking a vaction. I don't know why. Maybe it is like when we made forts in our living rooms as kids?)

My doc said that the exhaustion could be normal but he is running a bunch of blood work just in case. He wants to make sure the prednisone is not messing with my endocrine system. Crap.

You are somewhat reassuring me. I was doing so well last week until Thursday when crohns symptoms started sneaking in as they usually do a day or so before the shot. Had an MRI/MRE on Friday and did the humira injection on Saturday. Today is Wednesday and I still feel very funky, I fall asleep hard just about whenever, have bouts of nausea, my head is pounding, and my back is spasming and hurts like heck. Usually i have 2 days of foggy groggy head, fall asleep everywhere, and general malaise. When am I gonna feel better? Mb it is the combo of the barium swallow and the shot and needing the shot. I'm a teacher and worried about the shot during the fall.

Have you tried taking the Imuran at night before you go to bed? I have done that for a year now and it helps. The only rule with the Imuran is your suppose to take it around the same time each day.

I am 150mg of imuran a day, I take 75 in the morning 75 at night as per my docs orders. :( I wish I could just take it at night. I am hoping that once I go into remission we can lower the imuran dose by a lot, but as nothing is working yet we still have out the big guns. I did feel better a week after my first loading dose though. I just did my second and had a rough two days.

I'm on 100mg Aza and Humira, I am buggered - totally stuffed the afternoon and day after the jab. I am pleased to here that I am not the only one - I do not feel so bad about sleep for 3 hrs during the day now. The nausea is driving me nuts - but I forgot I had pills for that. My crohns appears in remission - and I am left with some real good fatigue. Thanks for your posts, at least we are all in it together.

Yup,not alone. Been on Humira 2years this October and the tiredness has pretty much just subsided in the last couple months. I was sleeping minimum of 12hours per day, t'was crazy! The one thing I have changed is, daily doses of Vit D, B12 complex with Folic Acid and Potassium. Maybe it's the vit's? I don't know but I have more energy now and don't sleep all day.
