Well after almost 2 months of virtually not eating I can eat food again and they finally figured out the problem so I know I'm not insane yet... I had very localazied and very tight stricture pretty much right at the terminal illeum (where the small intestine joins with the large intestine)... The stricture had narrowed my intestine there to the size of a pen head... They had every test done until finally they did a colonoscopy in which they found the stricture (all other tests showed my intestines looked normal so I thought I was just going crazy for a while)... They then were able to balloon open the stricture and they opened my intestine to the size of a quarter roughly... So I'm supposed to be fixed now and if I have problems thier just supposed to balloon it open again...

I'm really just glad I didn't have to be sliced open again... But my GI doc told me that even if they had to do surgery in the furture they wouldn't have to make a giant freaking cut again... I've only had two surgeries in the past but both times they cut me from above me belly button to just above my groin and recovering fully from that takes about 3 or 4 months...

Thats great news, hope things remain on the up for you. I too have had the incision you describe from the belly button to the groin and I totally know where You are coming from, it was very very uncomfortable.

Thats great man that you are doing better now. I am also happy thet you are not getting the knife again.

Thats good news. We all no what its like going under the knife. Freakin painful and you take so long to heal. My nurse said being cut open in the abdomin area takes the longest time to heal. Months sometimes. I also no what its like not to eat. I was on TPN for 8 months at one point. Now if they could only figure out whats wrong with me. I will soon be going under the knife soon but thats for these darn fistulas. Doc will be putting in some setons,I hope. Happy Healing
