How am I supposed to relax when every time that I do, I feel like I get so behind on work that taking the time to relax is not even worth it. I get overwhelmed and I feel panicked and I just don't know what to do. :( I've been feeling sick lately and now that I'm taking college classes I can't just take sick days whenever. This just really sucks.

I totally feel for you. I'm having issues with work and sick days myself and currently can't take any sick days until I get approved for FMLA, and my doctor's been dragging his heels on filling out his section of the paperwork. Some days, like today, I feel so out of it that I can barely concentrate on one task at a time, and my job pretty much requires me to multi-task, so it gets really difficult at times. Just take it slow and try to only focus on one thing at a time. Take as many breaks as you are able to, so that you don't get more overwhelmed. It might also help to you to talk with your teachers or bosses about your situation so that they are aware of what's going on and maybe they could make adjustments to deadlines or things like that. Good luck!

Hiya love, speak to your tutors and explain your situation. I am sure they will be understanding to your needs. Feeling overwhelmed is draining. Thinking of you and sending you a big hug xxxxx

i teach college and I find that I am VERY willing to let my students work things out due to illness or emergency if they let me know what is going on. If you have proven yourself to be a serious student thus-far ( meaning you put in effort), Im sure your professors will beaccomodating. I have been in your shoes....I'm still in them just at the oposite end of the spectrum now. As my mom used to tell me.."do your best and let God do the rest". you'll get through...stay determined!
Hope you begin to feel well soon.

Well just to update, I have emailed my professors because I had to miss a week of class because I've been in debilitating pain. One professor is letting me make up an exam, one is not going to count it when I bring her a doctor's note. She normally doesn't do this. One of my other professors told me to bring in my paper ASAP because she is still going to dock late points even after I explained to her what was going on. I haven't heard from my last one yet but I only had to turn in five questions from a reading so that isn't too severe.

I am a very good student, I try to do my best and I study and do my homework promptly. It was just this past week where I was in debilitating pain to the point where now I am taking pain pills so I can return to class. Thanks for the suggestions and thoughts! :)

I totally understand!!! I'm going through the same thing right now! I just missed almost a week of school because of the unbearable pain I'm currently in. One of my professors is letting me take the exam next week. I haven't heard back from the other one however, she is probably the most understanding because she says she works with crohn's patients. She works in microbiology and I guess they are doing research. Its very interesting.

Anyhow, she says that there are more developments and newer treatments underway, so everybody: hang in there!

PS: Are you on disability at the school? I am, and it helps a lot. Does your school have a disability resource center?
