How do I explain this to the specialist?

I am due to see a specialist in about a month. My latest enterography showed active disease. I get pain on both the right and left side of my stomach and the middle near my navel area. It only happens every few weeks. It doesn't happen all the time. Do you think the specialist will take it as serious?

I would keep a diary... when the pain occurs, where it occurs, intensity (1-10), and type of pain... burning, aching, sharp, dull, etc, etc.
I believe in seeing the doc with everything written down, it's often hard to recall when asked all this stuff and you may miss something.

Might help too if you can show where exactly the pain is. Maybe with your hands around your abdomen describing during the appointment, it could help. I know I'm pretty visual when it comes to explaining things, especially with my doctor.
Also, if it happens before or after you eat. Or, if you're hungry, full, etc...

Ron you know your body better than anybody else including the doctors. I would give the doctor a detailed account of your condition including what you were eating and lifestyle. Pain needs to be managed as it fuels stress, which then gets the Crohn's up. For the most part what works for me is to watch the diet, stress and control the pain.

Ron im doing the best i can finished pred today im scared as im only on imuran now and no other meds besides bascopan im so scared as im already feeling like this and how i might be doing worse

Ron unlike the fever that i get everyday, my intestines are angry i am still tender also very tired and im between diarrhea and constipation still have pain after meals and running to the loo ughhh and nausea now and again

I did tell the doc and i even wrote everything down , they did say something about biologics but i dont know whats happening there i guess nothing for now , all that i do know is that they said if im not better in 2months im being admitted again for what i dont know

Aw sweetie try not to be scared. Hard not to i know .. please just tell them you need help now. Doctors are a service and therefore to be used when needed.. like now. Be brave n whinge till they sort you out. I have had to do it myself in the past. Dont like doing it but sometimes you just got to,for the sake of your health bodily n mentaly. Big hugs hun
