Hi guys, ive been suffering undiagnosed for a while now and this monday will be the discussion with my GI doc about finally starting some treatment for my crohns. (Im wanting to stay away from steroids.)

I was just wondering if your treatment is working well how does this effect your symptoms, do you still have to go the toilet many times a day or does this then only happen after a flare? Do you start to feel "normal" and only when you have flare ups do things come back, or do you still have all the symptoms just less worse?

Thanks guys
Steve

Hi, Steve. :)

Ideally, you should experience no symptoms - but this isn't always the case. I'm currently in remission and I get mild stomach pains once or twice a week (these aren't bad enough to disrupt my life) and severe pains about once every three weeks. These severe pains are less severe than the pain I experienced when flaring and generally go away within a few minutes. I usually have normal bowel movements, but this might be increased slightly with the more severe pains. All in all, I still have symptoms but they're mild and they're not disruptive. However, this is different for everyone.
