How fast do you lose weight?

Hi everyone,

my doc suspects I have a Crohn's disease after doing endoscopy and colonoscopy, however, the blood test didn't confirm it. Doing capsule endoscopy right now before starting to get treatment.

I have had stool close to diarrhoea most of the last 2 weeks and so far I have lost more than a 1 kilo, but I think it is partially due to all preps for colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy.

I was just wondering how quick were you losing your weight?

Ask your doctor for a fecal calprotectin. I think that will help with a more conclusive diagnosis about the Crohn's Disease. My first flare I was 157 in January. By March , I was down to 123. Best to you soon

My flare is not bad at all. I have regular once a day stool. but it has been very close to diarrhoea most of the time.

My daughter lost 13 kg in 8 weeks prior to dx.

We are also in Australia.

Started flaring in december. By late feburary i went from my normal 180lbs to 138lbs. Before being diagnosed.since then i have been able to gain weight and am currently fluctuating between 165 to 175lbs. With my nausea its difficult to eat like i should. Still flaring but its controlled compared to where i was. I have a few bad days durring the month currently compared to all bad days.

I have no nausea and have pretty good appetite. Eat 5-6 times a day of low fat/sugar food, but still manage to loose weight.

Hope in a week after my doc completes reviewing results of capsule endoscopy I will start to get some treatment.
