How high can the dose go before they have to try something else?

I am currently on 200mg and while it HAS seemed to cut down the amount of flares I've had( mine are almost all extra intestinal, except for D and bleeding) a recent whopper of a flare affected my lungs and the pulmonologist said he's going to talk to my rheum about upping the imuran.

My husband is on it for a different condition and he takes 150, so I'm wondering if there is even much room to go up or if I'm going to have to switch meds.

Fwiw I'm fat from all the prednisone  so I do outweigh him and I Believe it's based on weight but expect you have to max out at some point?

I am 155lbs and am at 350mg. I really am not sure how well its working as I still get flares, about every two weeks. I know if this doesn't work then the Doc is eyeing Remicade.

If the max dose isn't working, there is also the option to lower the dose and take it with another medication (can't remember offhand, but it's used for gout and is warned against in the information leaflet) that affects the way the imuran is processed. Someone on here had to do that, but I can't remember who!
