If you have had iron infusion or other anemia treatments how did you get to that point?
I've been fighting anemia for about 7 years and now that I've been diagnosed with crohns it makes sense. My docs have had me on all kinds of oral iron and different amounts and it has never helped at all just upset my stomach. I've tried to talk with my general doc, my GI doc and my hematologist and all they do is say try more iron!!
I get so fatigued and get major insomnia when my levels get low it's crazy.
Any help would be very welcome.

This is probably going to sound dumb, but tell them just that- don't hide anything say its been years, its interfering in your life and getting an iron transfusion is almost 0 risk. Tell them their current plan of action is not enough for you and how its affecting your quality of life, if they don't listen then maybe they aren't the right doctors for you...

I only got it treated by going to a hematologist, internist and GI never took it serious enough but after a few infusions my levels were brought back to normal.
