How long do flares last?

Flares don't have a set time. It is true that CD is cyclical so someone can go through periods of remission and flares but more often than not rescue meds like pred are needed to dampen the inflammation and maintenance meds to control the inflammation.

If he is having new or worsening symptoms a call to the GI may be in order.

I remember you mentioned entocort and that he's been on it one week, that may not have been long enough for it to start helping or it may be that he needs to move to something stronger like pred.

Thx clash
my mother in laws taking him to ER right now

The ER may be able to give him a med to take the edge off the pain and possibly px some pred. They will also run blood work and tests to ensure there is no abscess, obstruction, perforation etc. But since they usually deal with acute situations and CD is chronic I would still contact the GI and make him aware of his level of pain and symptoms unless the ER decides to admit.

Hope he gets some relief.

This has been so difficult! We have nine yr old twins and trying to keep them at ease and carry on life has been a challenge. Now his job I'm wondering how he will be able to work Monday. It's so debilitating. I'm so scared and just pray there's a med that can help him :(
