How long do the biopsy results take?

The nurse at my colonoscopy on the 20th said to ring my doctor in 1 week for the results of biopsy. Seems a bit quick to me?

Usually 10 days for me so if they told you a week I'd go with what they said.

Mine was a week.

They told me three weeks. After six weeks I started ringing around every number I could find until I finally got someone's attention and they read out a letter that was being sent out (arrived 10 days later). As cancer was still a possibility at that stage it was a nervous wait. Good old NHS.:thumbdown:

Just tried ringing now, endoscopy department can't get the system working. Absolutely typical!

After my sigmoidoscopy and biopsies 8yrs ago,I waited 4 wks.

After my c/oscopy last month they gave me the results by phone in a few days and a confirmation by letter within 10 days.

I expect it depends on where you are and how busy THEY are.

Yeh I guess that makes sense. Waiting is the worst part.
