Hi can I ask iv not been diagnosed but been told I have ibd just waiting for tests to say which one iv been off work since march and still having pain so I'm on morphine when u are diagnosed and put on medication how long does it take for u to feel better and how many medications and ant side affects many thanks in advance

It depends on the med and the person. Some are really fast ( prednisone can have people feeling better within a week) others are slower ( Imuran is about 3-4 months)
What meds are something you will have to talk to your doctor about, same with sideffects. The most important thing is to have a good relationship with your doctor and getting them to explain their reasoning behind meds, possible side effects etc.

The first time I was on pred I felt better within 24 hours. As I used it more and more, it took much longer for any effect to be felt.
Imuran does take a long time, and normally you are on pred at the start of it while it accumulates in your body. Remicade seems to have a lot of variability in its time for effectiveness.
