How long have you been on Prednisone?

I'm entering month #5.

Still on 20mg. Hope to start tapering in two weeks.

Wondering how long others have been on it? Long-term effects?

I was on it for 8 months... most of it was tapering time from 60 mgs.

The longest I've been on pred is 16 weeks I think.
Starting at 40mg, tapering down 5mg every 2 weeks.
My doc usually just has me on it for 8 weeks. I doubled that one on my own.

only been on it since January 8th, and I have just over 3 more weeks left to taper off. So the first week of March I will be pred free! whoo hoo!

By the time I finally get OFF of it, I'll have been on it for approximately 20 weeks. About 19.5 weeks too long. ha ha. But I see many that have been on it for years. You poor, poor things. I hope you don't get any of the awful side effects.

I was on it for 2 years starting with 80mg for a few months then on 40mg for the bulk of the time. when I was down to 20mg I decided I had had enough. I stopped without tapering off and almost died. scary $h1t.

8 months last year. I did not sleep at all which was great because then I had a whole 24 hours a day to eat and yell at people. it was tops:voodoo:

Since December 11th 2008, on 30mg at the moment. I've tried tapering several times but once I get down to 20mg or so all my symptoms flare up really bad again and my gastro tells me to put the dose back up...

Starting to feel the side effects though and it's not so nice.

Was on 60mg for a LONG time. 2 weeks of IV. Finally down to 15mg.
Still waiting for my bloated face to go down.

Ive been on it for about 2 Months now.
IV for a week 90mg
then 40mg
Got down to 10mg once a day and my CD went crazy so the Doc put me back on 40mg

Long long time ago now, but I was on for over two years, most of the time was on a low dose, but I think the doc forgot to taper me off. I registered at the student health centre when I went to university, the doc there nearly had a fit and got me off asap!
