How Many Times Do You Excrete a Day?

My morbid curiosity has begged me to ask this question. So, everyone, what's your response?

I go 5-6 times a day. Is that 'normal' for a Crohn's/Colitis patient?
 
I dunno what's normal really. For me, I am unusual in that i only go 1-2 x most days, hoth in the first half hour of getting up.
 
When flaring it can be from 5-12 times a day. Now I take my morning deuce, sometimes do a followup deuce and I'm usually done. 1-3 times a day depending upon the amount I eat.
 
10-15 times day. Often more.

It's gotten to the point that in the middle of the night I sleepwalk to the toilet, go, and head back to bed and barely remember that I've gone.
 
12 times in a flare. 1 - 2 times in remission.

I think non-Crohn's people vary as well. I would guess that most "normal" people go once a day. I know that some go every other or even every third day.
 
Yeah I have a normal friend who can only poo in certain toilets so she can go up to a week without pooing. NOT normal.
 
Lol, @ Excreting.... I call it Defecating.

I find the mornings are usually worse. Even when I am in remission I go 6-10 times a day. The only difference for me between remission and flare ups are sweats, headaches, fevers, and random pains. And also waking in the night to go to the bathroom. If I go to the bathroom only twice in a day, I'd probably be worried, lol.

But I must say, I can poop ANYWHERE in just about ANY toilet. Even if I have to hover.

Yeah I felt like I was going 1,000 times when in my last flare.
SO much that your bum is so sore from all the wiping, even with the gentle
wet wipes.

Now that i am in remission, 1-2 times each day, usually in the morning.
 
1-2 times in the morning, always d's and I actually thought that was normal until a year ago lol.

So its not too bad, but if I don't get that taken care of first thing is when I can have a possible accident. :tongue:
 
I generally go 1 - 2 times a day if Im not having a flare... and generally first in the morning then again at night time after dinner and Im generally more constipated when not having a flare.. but have complete opposite when flaring have the D's and probably go anywhere between 5-8 times a day. I seem to yo-yo between having the runs and being constipated!! Fun.
 
i poo all the time. have a pouch.
but before a pouch i was anything from 2 to 10 times a day.
pre crohns i would go twice a week.
 
I only excrete when I'm staying in a posh hotel... and I only defecate when I'm in hospital... all the other times I just have a poo!
On average it's between 0 and 5 times a day.
 
Between 6-10 times. The morning ones are the hardest though. Cause there is almost always a follow up.
 
Do you guys think there is a psychological aspect to going regularly, also? I mean, I can sometimes go all day without rushing to the toilet if I'm in the company of another, and/or outside. I find it difficult to get anything out at all in other people's/public toilets. But as soon as I'm alone with my own toilet, I get this sudden urge to know. It's as if my arse feels most comfortable, undisturbed, and then I can poo for England! :p

Yes! I was just saying a few weeks ago in another thread how I was out of town earlier this month and didn't go for FOUR days! My stomach hurt, but thought it was from all the booze -- it didn't register until I was at the airport waiting for my flight that I hadn't gone in several days. As soon as my plane landed and my feet hit my airport, well, let's just say the comfort of home kicked in, LOL.
 
I'd say you are pretty normal, Ataraxia. I go 10-15 times a day, but I'm still "flaring" since I just got diagnosed. I know my friends that aren't Crohnies go like 1-2 times per day. I used to be like that too... I miss those days.
 
Once every two days. I'd rather go once a day because everytime I visit the toilet I lose like 3 - 4 lbs... but beggars can't be choosers, so I'll take what I can get
 
When flaring I go 6 or more times a day. When in remission 2-3 times a day. Before Crohn's I went once a day and never went in a public restroom. Now when I gotta go I gotta go! I always am most comfortable at home and can seem to let loose there...if you know what I mean.
 
1-2 x in the morning. When I'm not feeling good or flaring I don't go at all and get constipated...
 
On average about 5-6 times a day, sometimes if I'm having a better day it can be less though. I think that's relatively manageable at the moment though. Don't know where it all comes from however as I don't eat a lot. If I'm going through a really rough patch I have been known to go like 20 times a day. Not fun!

Prior to the onset of my symptoms I wasn't going every day for sure, maybe every other day.

In the past, I would have a lot of trouble in the morning, but since then mornings are of no problem anymore. I still give that time in the morning to let my bowel settle before I go anywhere. It can be anywhere from 1 to 5 times daily. Mostly about 5 minutes after I eat/drink something, or halfway through a meal.
 
Usually twice in the morning (me time) and once or twice the rest of the day depending on what I eat. During Thanksgiving I'll have to go mid meal and open shop there for the rest of the night.

I find that when my mind is occupied I go less frequently...and when I'm bored I'll go more often, anyone else?
 
Ha! My whole life it was always 3+ a day. D almost every time (formed stools few times a year).
I only realized it was like - NOT OK - when a doc asked me if I went to the bathroom regularly, on a daily basis... I was like... WHAT do you mean? There´s people that don´t go everyday???? LOL
When I´m on a flare up, it´s 6-10 times a day.
 
Currently on Pred it is 1-2 times a day. Last year before I started on the Pred again I was in the 5-6 range, sometimes less. But when I flare I tend to stop eating.
 
Usually 10-16 times a day. 8 of those are in the morning. I'm so exhausted by the time I leave for work ( currenty lots of straining) and I have to get up extra early just so I have enough time to go. Just joined the Humira Club on 12/24. Next loading dose is tomorrow. Keeping the faith. Bleeding has been better.

I'm afraid so. More depending on when, what, how much.
