So, i'm not sure if it's just me, but it just seems like I get sick a lot more than anyone I know. I really feel like i'm getting sore throats, colds, coughs, etc. moreso than my co-workers and friends. Is this because of Crohn's? I would like to think so...:sign0085:

Are you on immunosuppresents or Biologicals for your CD? If so then yeah you will get sick more than most, and even might need to take added precautions. Also having chronic illness makes you more susceptible to getting sick.

I seem to be sick all the time. I am actually in the hospital right now for a antibiotic resistant e.coli UTI. Been on IV antibiotics for 5 days now. Plus I got diagnosed with 2 new major medical problems since I have been here. I think I am a walking infection magnet.

Not so much lately, but in school I was sick all the time. Any time anything was going around, I got it. In addition to all that, I had Crohn's symptoms which my mother either didn't believe, or just credited to a virus. So yup, sick a lot. After I started treatment though, that changed. I haven't been sick as often lately - but it probably helps that I graduated high school two years ago, and haven't been around massive amounts of people on a regular basis since.

As Earnellzwifey said, a lot of the medications used to treat Crohn's affects your immune system, so that doesn't help much.

I'm not on immunosuppressants yet, because my Crohn's is still "mild." Yet, I always have diarrhea and issues with certain foods. I'll be honest, i've been stressing out like crazy, and not working out like I should be, but i'm just tired of being sick. You know it's bad when your co-worker says to you, "You're sick more than anyone I know!"

I really want to start going back to fruits, protein shakes, and probiotics to help with everything, but it's just been difficult sticking to it.

Yes I get sick more often and longer than anyone I know so I try to stay away from friends and family members who I at least know are sick. I've been taking immune suppressants since I was a early teen but I know I was sick a lot before I started taking them.
