Just like the title says. How sick is too sick to wait it out till you inject again?

I was told to call the doctor's office if I was sick at all and they would let me know if it was ok to inject or not. Sadly the only person who knows anything will be out of the office until after my next injection date (this Tuesday the 11th is my next dose).

I've had a sore throat and stuffy/runny nose for a week now with body aches that come and go. No fever or vomiting or anything like that. Just this crappy cold that wont seem to go away.

I plan on contacting the pharmacy on Monday if I'm still sick by then but I honestly don't see myself getting any better anytime soon.

Anyone ever inject while sick or were you told not to? How long do you have to wait to inject anyway and what were you sick with? What it if you wont be better for a week or more after you were supposed to inject? Am I going to die? :p Just kidding.

I have done treatments while sick many times, while it didn't kill me... six or more years later and I still have the same upper respiratory infection, which occasionally develops into bronchitis, and full blown pneumonia during the winter months! I'm sure it does not help that I am a smoker... Anyhow... Each case is different. I couldn't hold off on injections because I was already doing the "loading doses" all the time, and still not seeing results, so delaying injections would mean almost certain hospitalization. So, when given a choice between recurrent infections and severe crohn's flare... I picked recurrent infections. In retrospect... it probably was not the best idea, and if my doctor were worth a crap, he wouldn't have let me go ahead with treatments while sick. But that's just my opinion. If your symptoms aren't currently INSANE, and you can hold off a few days, go get a cortisone shot and some antibiotics to kick the infection down a notch before next injection... i would definitely do so! best of luck and hope you feel better soon!

I am wondering the same thing. I am battling a really bad UTI that was discovered to be resistant to the first round of antibiotics. I just started taking Cipro yesterday and per culture it should work. However, I am due for my injection in a couple days too (Cimzia). I feel like I have not really had remission since Crohn's dx as I tend to always have abdominal pain and a low grade fever around 100. Since the UTI, it has been closer to 101.

Fwiw DS had a cold but no fever and we got the ok to do his Remicade infusion.
We were told only major illness with a fever.
