How To Discuss With GI

I am still currently undiagnosed and going untreated. The only thing I can do to help alleviate symptoms is MM. Well I live in a MM state, though it's not like California. The process is strict and expensive to obtain a MM card. What is the best way to approach this subject with my GI? Should I wait for a diagnosis? We are all aware of the stigma, and I don't want to bring it up and then ruin the relationship I have with him. I am young, and feel that a young patient might have a harder time than an older patient in convincing a script out of a dr. What do you think?
