Hello everyone. I had a question. Everyone advice would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to get disability benefits for my son. He is 17 now. When he turns 18 he will lose his insurance. He has already been denied once for disability because they did not get his records from his crohns doctor. I have a attorney for him. At this time they are trying to set a trial date. The secretary at the attorney's office told us that people with crohns normally gets approved but for kids it might be hard because the judge might think the child condition will improve. I think my son is disabled. His crohns is in his esophagus and stomach. I don't know how to ask his doctor will he help him. I would like some suggestions or advice. Thank you. Sorry for the long post.

Are you applying for SSDI or SSI? You should have a frank discussion with his doc about whether he deems him disabled. The doctor will be able to give you his thoughts and that will go a long way in determining the outcome of the case. All you can do is state your case to the doc and his to you.

Good luck, I hope your son soon finds remission.
