I had bone scan about 10 years or slightly more moon ago.
My point is how do you develop 3 damage joints? I did but now? There no support evidence to suggest that the disease UMCTD damage joints.

No idea, but maybe ask your GI. Are you taking fish oil? It's supposed to be fantastic not only for crohns, but joints too. Many people on here write, that they develop arthritis with crohns, and that's an extra intestinal manifestation of CD. I only had joint probs on a higher dose of prednisalone, but I take fish oil daily now, and it's supposed to be a preventative of arthritis, so I'm thinking if you have joint probs, take 2 a day. Make sure, that it's not only 'omega 3 triglycerides' but also has 'EPA' and 'DHA'. Apparently some fish oil is useless for crohns, unless it has these. I wread that on a thread here a while ago. Best wishes, hope it helps. :)

Hi Joshephine,
I agree with Irene. Best bet is to ask your physician.

But, let me see if I understand your question correctly and a couple points for clarification.

1. Do you have Raynaud but it is getting better gradually?

2. Can you have milk? Do you have lactose intolerance at all?

3. Is your question how Crohn's Disease and joint damage are related?
Thanks. :)

It sounds like you have a lot going on right now. I am sorry you are having to deal with these symptoms. Waking up in pain is especially difficult because lack of sleep has been shown to exacerbate pain and inflammatory symptoms.

The reason I asked if you were able to have milk is because I noticed your profile stated you were taking Mebeverine (Colofac). It contains milk sugar (lactose). Check out "Pharmaceutical Precaution" at the bottom of page 2. http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/profs/datasheet/c/colofactab.pdf. I am concerned it may be activating you immune system inappropriately if you are still taking that drug.

Do not stop taking the Mebeverine without seeing your doctor and getting their recommendations. I just noticed a possible issue you may have with your meds that you might want to bring up at your next visit. They know your entire history and an MD is your best bet right now.

Regarding joint damage- unfortunately, if you have an autoimmune disease, your body can mount an immune response to any protein or body part. While not "normal" the joints are one of the more common targets in autoimmune disease. Your MD may suggest a drug like prednisone to quiet the immune system.

Sorry I couldnt help. But if you are taking the Mebeverine I would ask your doctor about your milk issue and the lactose in the drug.
I hope you feel better very soon,
J

Thank you for your support and advice. Mebeverine Hm I started taken because stomach was not relax enough when I eat so nothing was stay in stomach long enough to digest. But your point is good one so I shall make appt. When middle daughter got over viral inner ear infection.
