Hi everyone,

like in my last post i has said that I just got my second dose of Humira. I really don't believe it is having any effectiveness. I realize it usually normally takes alot longer for Humira to start working but my reason for believing that is this...

I was on remicade for 8 months but i didn't respond to it after the third dose, and i do not have antibodies. Even my GI doctor doesn't think that Humira will be effective.

When or if Humira is claimed uneffective I will HAVE to have surgery I've been on every other med possible and nothing has worked or the side effects were to awful to bear.

I have wanted to have surgery ever since February of this year when i was extremley sick. I'm going into another flare right now and I almost hope it gets so bad that they have to give me surgery to fix it because I don't want to wait another 3 months to be told I need surgery. I just want everything to get better now.

Hi Stephanie-

I don't have an answer to the humira question. I just wanted to say that I know the feeling of wanting to hurry up and do surgery when it seems like the need is imminent. I have a good response to humira, but a stricture that is not going away without surgery. I am waiting until Nov 21 to even talk to the surgeon. He may say I don't need it yet, but I deal with the symptoms of partial obstruction almost every day. So, it sucks. Hang in there :)

I've already talked to the surgeons, but next week is my MRE then that will show if there is an immediate reason to have surgery. But if nothing comes up on the MRE than the surgeon will be talking with my GI to see if there is a practical surgical option afterwards. But like i said I have to have surgery if Humira does not work. I just wish it would be sooner rather than later.

I took it for 2 years. Turned out it made me feel better, but not better inside. Ended up with multiple structures that were not there before.

Had surgery in April. Scope 2 weeks ago showed severely active Crohn's. So now it is on to Stelara trial, then Tsybri.
