I'm 60 and I have developed photosensitivity while on humira. My skin dries out and I have to apply Fatty cream several times a day. Sunscreens are too dry and my skin cracks around them, so I have to apply fatty cream on top. I'm growing wart things on my head and scattered over my body. My scalp rains dandruff and the only way to get it out is shower. You can't put fatty cream on your scalp as it messes your hair.
Looking at the incidence of photo sensitivity (lack of protection) while on Humira I see the incidence is increased under 60 yr olds. It makes sense that the skin cells aren't as robust as in younger people?

Have you seen a dermatologist yet? They may have some recommendations for you. With medications that require less sun exposure its recommended to avoid the sun during its peak hours (between 10:00am-4:00pm), wear long sleeves, use an SPF of 30 or higher, wear a hat and use an umbrella to protect you from sun exposure.

I haven't gotten a chance to read the entire link but this one has a lot of good information: http://www.skincancer.org/preventio...sitivity-a-reason-to-be-even-safer-in-the-sun

I'm on the waiting list to see a dermatologist. I figure he/she will say "it's caused by Humira". The doctor has lined me up to see a me to a D because the solar keratosis on my head keep growing despite liquid nitrogen.

Sunscreen is only partially effective as I need cream as well. It gets on my shirt collars, tie, rubs off on my trousers etc.

thanks for the link. I don't see Humira on the list?

Update
I went to the Dermatologist and have developed Lupus. So I'm off Humira. I read that the symptoms reverse after stopping Humira.
I'm feeling ratty which is a Crohns sympton (for me).
