Hi all!

I've seen a lot of posts about Humira use in the US but was wondering about it in the UK. After Aza not working for me (possible pancreatitis) Humira seems like the way forward. I am waiting for results of blood tests and a chest xray (yesterday) to see if I'm all ok for it and will then be waiting for getting the while medication delivery arrangement.

If you're in England can you tell me how the deliveries work out? Can they deliver in the evenings or will I have to get it delivered to work? I've also been told that my first dose will be a mega dose and a nurse will be there the support me/help - again, is this usually within working hours?

I'm in the US, but will hopefully be receiving my first dose/ starter kit of Humira this week. I'm no help with the shipping/ supply questions, but I hope everything works out!

Hi, I got my first delivery at work on Friday. They delivered me 6 shots and a needle box. They rang me a few days previous to discuss the times. They just say either afternoon or morning. You will need a fridge at work.
They also said by my next delivery (3 month) that they are looking at starting on weekends too.

I've been using Humira for 3 yrs now, My starting doses were done in Hospital under instruction from the Specialist Nurse. I switched from the Pens to the Syringes, less stinging IMO. I always inject into my belly.
I get a phone call to let me when delivery will be made & it all works like clockwork.
Hope this helps
Grant

I was on Humira for 16-18 months last year and the previous.

I started the loaded doses in hospital then I got a delivery every month from a company called "Healthcare at Home". They call you, arrange the deliveries with you and it all went super smooth.

I think they come by a special courier as they had to be kept cold in transit.

When I lived in the UK I had been on humira for a short while.
I too had my loading doses in the hospital and the next couple of shots were done with like a community nurse that came to my house to eensure I understood what I was doing/did it correctly!

I would get a phone call or a letter to arrange the deliveries and they'd provide and take away the sharps container too

Was very easy

Good luck!

Hi! I did my loading dose with the IBD nurse to make sure I had the correct technique (despite being a qualified nurse myself) and then she set up delivery with healthcare at home who deliver every few weeks.....hope it is a smooth process for u

Did anyone else get the letter ? saying sorry we couldn't deliver the Humira owing to increased demand etc etc. They left me waiting nearly 5 weeks then a very sheepish phone call asking how many doses I had left..."um none for some time! hehe

Once the delivery is arranged you can ring on the morning and ask what time slot you have I believe you can also check the website and its listed there. I might be wrong but think they deliver until 17:30

Just got my delivery today.
I've never had a letter saying they have run out. Have you spoken to your Dr/Nurse about this?

yes was up In London Monday they couldn't believe it.
I had another delivery today also and they are putting the scripts upto every 12 weeks now.

the letter read something like owing to 120,000 more new clients we have been having problems with delays in delivery and aim to get this sorted as soon as possible. I really hope it wont happen again
