Hello my name is Oliver.
I had my first flare up when i was 13, i am now 19. This one has been ging for over 6 months now, over the last few months though although i have been off work, it was maintainable. However the past week things have taken a serious turn for the worst.

It started with stomach cramps which have got progressivily, when they started i would give them a pain rating of 5/10 now they are about 9/10 where i am nearly in tears because the pain is so sevire. With this i have also strted throwing up, i am sick roughly 10-15 times a day without fail. When i am sick it consists of water and stomach acid, which makes it very painful (it feels like my stomach is being pulled out when im being sick). Because of this i have no been able to eat so i am loosing weight fast.

I have spoken to my doctor and they will not give me any treatment untill my colonoscopy in 4 weeks time. I don't think i can last till then if these symtoms continue, i cant sleep, i cant eat and i'm constantly in pain. I'm scared if nothing happens soon i might die or end up with long term complications.

I am currently on Pentessa 1x3 a day, Omeprazole 1x2 a day and Buccastem 2x2 a day.

If anyone can help or give me some advice it will not go unapreciated, i just need someone who understands what im going through right now to talk to :(.

Good luck at A&E!!! i get stomach and duodenal ulcers. i also get blood blisters in the throat. I hope you are on your way to hospital and they put things right for you.

I SEE U R ONLINE. HOSPITAL NOW!!!!

I agree. The ER can actually run some tests while you are there, possibly CT scan. They will give you something for your pain. It sounds like you should not let it go on any longer!!

Are you able to go the ER?

We are all concerned for you.

and then when that is done, maybe you should get a different GI doctor too. Check the list on this site for doctors in your area.

Let us know how you are doing

I hope you have gotten to the hospital!! Please let us know how you are doing?

I'm so sorry, Oliver. :(

I really hope you got to the hospital and will update us as soon as you're able and feeling up to it!

I just got back from the hospital, they gave me some steroids to take over the next 5 days and i will start a liquid diet tomorrow aswell. Thankyou for your support during this, i wont forget it :)

thank goodness!!!
When you are up to it, let us know more about you and what type of Crohns you have.
So glad you are on a steriod. liquid diet will help too.

Even though your colonoscopy is in 4 weeks, can you see your GI this week? Or even a GP could help monitor you until then.

Once steroids wear off, your symptoms may come back, so it would be good to get an appt. asap.

Please call your GI first thing in the morning and let him or her know about your symptoms and about your need to go to the hospital. If you do not get any relief with the steroids, either call your GI doctor and state you need to be seen ASAP or go to the Emergency Room right away. If the steroids don't help, then this could be a serious situation.

((Hugs)).

I'm so glad you made it to the hospital, Oliver!

I also think you should call your GI at the first opportunity. They might be able to move your appointment up.

  I really hope you feel better soon!!

Really nice that you're ok Oliver. Next time go to the hospital before posting you're coughing up blood though! Take care of yourself.

Well done you! Be especially kind to yourself for a few days!

As Sarah says: update the hospital and see if they want to move your appointment forward or have you see a specialist.

Thanks again for all the reply's; it is very much appreciated :). I've just started my liquid diet, it suggests that i have one sachet for each meal, however after my first i am still hungry, would it be wise for me to double up? or should i just stick to what it says on the box.
Thanks Oliver.

Hi
If you are able to keep it down then why not try doubling up., use a bit of caution though.
You will soon know if it does not agree with you.
Hope you are going to make an urgent appointment with your GI tomorrow.
We are very interested in what happens and look forward to being of some help to you..
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes
Trysha

Sorry for the very late reply to this thread.
I have been on a Luquid diet now for the past 2 weeks and i have seen a noticeable improvement to my health, I am also able to work now which is a very nice change.
I had my Colonoscopy Last Friday which went well, I am currently waiting on the results from that to see what the next step of my treatment will be, Also i Have an apointment with a Ditetition which should hopefully get to the bottom of what i can and cannot eat.
