Not been on here for a while, feel horrible, so permission to moan!
I've had 6 injections now including the loading doses.
I feel worse than ever, not as bad as when I was blocked and in hospital 3 years ago and drugged up to the eyeballs on Pred etc.
But, I got a cold the week before Easter, and it was nasty, and I can't get rid of it, I'm coughing and snotty.
I now have a sharp pain LRQ which hurts when I press it.
I've got horrendous diarrhea.
I've lost 9lbs
My lower right back is throbbing.
I have nasal sores and sore eyes.
So, I'm phoning the IBD nurse tomorrow for advice, actually I did see him last week and was told to 'give it more time'
I don't know what to do :(
Any advice muchly appreciated xxx

I hate it when they tell you to give it more time.
They said this to me and a week later I was in hospital! I knew my body and knew I needed steroids but they didn't listen.
I hope they can do something for you and you get better soon.

I know it can be hard to hear that but the truth of the matter is most of our meds can take up to 3 months to work. Can they add on a steroid while you wait to see if Humira helps? I'm sorry you are in so much pain :(

Gotta give it some time. I did not start to feel really better until a few months in, although the fistula cleared up in a few days.

Give it more of a chance. Good Luck!

Joan, I am so sorry.:ghug:.I wish you felt better than this. I would talk to my GI and see if I could be put on prednisone for a while.Give Humira the time it needs to work. It can take up to a couple of months for Humira to take effect, but it is worth the wait. Hang in there.

Yeah that^^^
HUmira can take up to 12 weeks to work unfortunately.
YOu may need something to help until it kicks in all the way -like a mini pred dose.
good luck

my son will be in the same boat in a week or two (switching to humira from remicade.)
HAte the starting over part.

Misty, calm down. It is no where as bad as it is in one's mind.

Relax, grin and bare it, and give it time, it will be OK.

If it works you will be saying it is a miracle.

Good Luck Ladies!

Thanks everyone!
MikeinBklyn, thanks for that, I'm just so impatient!
DougUte, am I special like in a Sunshine Bus way? lol
Mistybear, I feel fine now!

I had a blip, a few days flaring, but my cold has gone, I feel ok now!
Doing my injection tonight, then gonna chill watching Prison Break!

Hi Joan
It took the full three months for me to see results.
Then it took about 12 months for my body to fully adjust.
Up until a couple of months ago - I had all kinds of awful infections and colds.
The day after injection day - I would feel like I'd been hit by a bus.

Now - I feel fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.
And I'm in remission.
It was a very tough year to get there.
But now - I reckon it was worth it.
So hang in there - it will be worth it. Just takes bloody forever to get there.
Good luck with it and I hope you feel better soon.

Hope it gets better for you! It did take a good few good weeks for Humira to start making me feel better. It's not a fast mover unfortunately.

+ Prison Break makes everything better! Love that show. I bought the boxset and I've seen it all twice now, so good. /offtopic

Hiya JustAYoungLad,
I'm on season 3 now, bought the box set too, it's amazing! But... not as good as 24.
Thanks for the good wishes xx

:ybatty:I just realized that I left my humira out on my dresser for 5 days. I can't believe I did that, wow I feel so stupid. Totally forgot that it needs to be refrigerated. For goodness sake where is my brain?
