Sorry to hear you're having a hard time right now:( You're definately in a good place for support though. Cause, there are a lot of great people on here. Let me know if you need someone to talk to.

What is "normal" anyway? :p Lots of people have some sort of health condition so who knows, maybe we're being "normal" on an extreme level. :p No I totally know the feeling. Problem is that we're going to have to deal with this for the rest of our lives no matter what we do. Even once in remission, you still have to deal with the fact that you even have a disease that you fight to keep in remission everyday. I think once you understand the illness more and what it entails to get/keep it in remission then you're closer to the road of acceptance. Acceptance is key to dealing with it everyday.

It didn't bother me when I was first diagnosed either (well after the 2 month hospital stay). I got used to taking medicine everyday yet once I reached my teen years it became harder for me and I hated it. I hated myself even. I still wonder to this day what my life would have been like if I never got this disease. Yet maybe I wouldn't have gotten my Masters in Fine Art if I hadn't dealt with it at such a young age. Maybe I never would have met my fiance and be planning for our wedding now. Can't live life on "what ifs" ya know? It only brings you down.

Even though I'm still technically/clinically in remission I do on occasion have that desire to be "normal." I don't think that's something that will ever go away really. Thing is that you can't dwell on it and need to live life day by day rather than worry about what the future holds. I'm sure it still holds great things for you even with your diagnosis. :) We're here anytime though.

I'm not sure if it'll help any. But, while I was trying to get some signatures from my brothers and sisters at work the last couple of days to help our friends here on the forum in the UK. I found out that quite a few of the people I talked to had family members who have Crohn's. Crabby is right, you never know what someone else might be going through too. Many of those at my work never knew about my Crohn's till I started taking that piece of paper around for them to read! Take care.
