Diarrhea and bleeding started back up...looks like Humira isn't going to do the trick for me...enough already, just take out my colon (the only area of disease I have ever had) and let me move on with my life!!!!

Just needed to vent! So frustrated! :ymad:

Thanks
Suz :ybatty:

I don't recall if you had a problem with 6mp? Adding that would assist. Also, it can sometimes take several months for the humira to really take effect, especially with more severe and difficult cases.
Hang in there! If need be there are still other options for you.
Hope you feel better soon, and that this is a road-bump only...rotten illness.

Thanks handle! It just feels very scary to have been sick with some unknown illness for so long and then to finally be given a name only to learn they may not be able to help me very easily or for a long time yet.

I have not been on 6MP before. Is that one they add on to Humira? I don't mean to be impatient with the disease or drugs but it is hard to grasp the idea of remaining ill for an unknown period of time.

I spoke with my doctor this afternoon and he wants to do a repeat colonoscopy this week. If there has been no change from the Pred. and Humira he wants to switch me to Remi/Imuran.

Thank you so much for your support! I am just feeling so lost right now. I know so many have it far worse than I and that I have no right to feel sorry for myself one bit. I try hard to keep my chin up, stay positive and move forward but some days I guess I lose that battle.

I was wrong....bleeding is from internal hemorrhoids...feel like a bit of a fool for over reacting...well, I am at least happy it is not anything other than hemorrhoids...

don't feel silly for overreacting! I do the same thing. A little while back, my eyes started getting extremely dry, pus, sore, itchy... the works. I was so paranoid because there are a few eye disorders you can get from biologics. GPs kept telling me it was pinkeye, but it never went away. then they kept saying I might have some horrible eye disease...I started freaking out. I was convinced I was going to go blind or something. It wasn't until I saw an opthamologist that he confirmed I had: DRRRUUMMM ROLL PLEASE!

dry eye! ...albeit, extreme dry eye. But, hey, at least my eyes are fine.

Anywho, I'm not sure of your background or what you have tried. Have you asked your GI about methotrexate as a suppliment to your biologic? It's helping me. It's usually used in extremely low doses to help stop antibodies from building up in biologics but GIs and studies are showing methotrexate is effective in also treating crohn's itself. My GI put me on a high dose of metho when my Humira wasn't making me well fast enough. I'm still experiencing a few crohn's symptoms, but I *seem* to be going in the right direction.

Glad to hear your problem was hemmoroids! I am on humira weekly and unfortunately I misfired my pen and it went all down my leg.. not sure what to do?? Don't think I am responding to humira anymore any way. Symptoms coming back since stopping azathioprine as it gave me bad side effects. I should really have been put on 6-mp.
