I know hair loss is a side effect, but what about pubic hair?

Semi embarrassing, but have any of you noticed your pubic hair thinning out?

I have had some hair loss (head) from imuran, but I just noticed that my pubic hair is about 75% thinner. I'm in my early 20s so age I don't think has anything to do with it.

Could this be medicine/disease related?

I couldn't find anything specific to pubic hair but it seems Imuran isn't a likely cause of hair loss in IBD. That being said plenty on here and elsewhere with IBD complained of hair loss on this drug and hair loss may not be limited to the head. I wouldn't shy away from discussing it with your doctor, they have heard it all.

I get hair loss when I am just generally unwell with crohn's - probably nutritional problems but haven't noticed the same in pubic area but no reason why it shouldn't happen in both.
My hair always grows back when I've been in hospital on TPN. do you have a good diet? Whilst it could be the Imuran it could be just not absorbing nutrients properly so supplements may help - vitamin d, b group, magnesium, potassium and iron are common deficiencies for me - maybe a multivitamin could help you? best of luck,

I lost a lot of hair from taking Pentasa.

I also lost hair on 6mp. These immunosuppressive medications do take a toll on the body.
