Hi!

I was sent to this forum from the "My Story" section (lots more details about me on my post there that I won't bother you with now), and I just wanted to ask a general question.

Is there anyone on here that is sans diagnosis and dealing with the ups-and-downs of "whatever this is" in college? I'm about to graduate high school and after a 3rd "flare up" this year that has put me in bed for 3 days, I'm worried about what will happen next year.

Thanks everyone!

I now have a dx but didn't initially going into univ. Not going to lie it was hard. I felt like my teachers were constantly judging me for leaving during class when classes were less than an hour. I even had one prof, as I was leaving stop class to ask that we not leave class in the future, we were adults just hold it unless it was a medical issue ( but no dx at the time to say yea it is). If you can I would recommend telling your teachers you are having medical issues and may need to step out. Most will understand. My one prof I didn't mention a diagnosis but rather said I was having issues with medication adjustments and he actually let me write an online test I missed with no proof. Many many teachers are great and understanding but you need to give a bit, they aren't mind readers. Best of luck!

I was in college when things started going downhill and it's scary not knowing what's happening. The best advice I can give is to stick with trying to get your answers and then the right treatment. If a specialist can't help you, move on for another opinion.

I am still in college, i've gone through 2 years of school with no diagnosis and i'm now in my first year of college. I just have to let the teachers know, i've been in a flare for the last 3 months and because no diagnosis there isn't much for treatment, meaning i can't get out of this flare. Just tell all your tutors the situation and tell them that they just have to understand when you need to leave the class to go to the toilet or if you need to go home. Just do what you can to get them to understand. I just try to control my symptoms with medication and keep pushing for a diagnosis to get help. Good luck, if you have any questions feel free to send me a private message and if i can i will help :)
