I want my life back!

I have had fairly bad symptoms for over a year now! I`m Fed Up ! I want my life back.

I am not without an ache somewhere in my joints, thumb on left hand has been swollen up for 2 days now.

Doctor comfirmed 1 fistula, pretty sure I have at least 1 more!

Can not get far from bathroom, when I have to go, I have to go!!!!

My husband has been going for walks in the evening and I dare not go with him.

My fistula drains constantly! Very irritating!!! I go to bathroom every few minutes to wipe!!!

Have gained weight this past year because I can not exercise with all this going on. My friends are all slim and trim. They are very conscious about how they look , etc.... I don`t want to be around them.

I just want this all to go away!!!

I know I just needed to vent! Sorry!

You can vent all you want here. I understand what you are going through. For the past seven years my butt has leaked mucus, stool, or blood everyday. It's always a new suprise down there. Has your doctor talked about biologics like remicade. It can help close fistulas. I'll keep you in my prayers

Fistula drainage, so good isn't it... Not. I can sympathise I used to wear a pad quite a lot of the time to mop the drainage, didn't eliminate the sore bum from wiping so much but it did help lessen the irritation - both physical and psychological. Some folk stick a bit of gauze in the butt cheeks to soak it up!

Anyway. Vent away!

Yes Jeff, my Dr. is talking Humira. He wanted to make sure the Imuran(150mg) has had a chance to work first. It has been over 4 months since he increased to the Max. dosage. It has not helped much! I am ready for HUMIRA !!!!!!! I see my GI May 13th, can`t come soon enough.

I have no experience with a fistula, but just wanted to chime in and offer some support. I do, however, know how it feels when every day you wake up and feel like something else is wrong and you just can't get a break!!!

I hope you can get on the Humira for the fistula and get that taken care of. It must be so frustrating to be constantly leaking.

Rant away.....I'm about to in another thread!

Yep - fistulas are NO FUN! Had perianal and rectovaginal at the same time........Within a few weeks of starting Remicade they closed up!.....

Hope you can get on the Humira - any way for you to move up your Dr appt?

Yes pasobuff, I am on their cancellation list! I suspect I have a rectovaginal fistula also. Hope to get releif soon! Thanks!

HI there, I too haven't had fistula's but I know about trying to get your life back I have been hoping and praying for 8 years... some days are really trying, and like you or someone said as I always say you go along and the rug always slips out from under you. I hate that too but... what is the alternative? We have to pick ourselves up , after all the whining and feeling miserable, and just keep going! Yes, it is hard, and trust me I know. I have a wonderful husband who keeps reminding me, life will get better... just wish it was now! Hugs!
