Hi people i stumbled across this site while doing my own research which i'm sure we all try to make sense of whats going on with us. According to this there is no way i have IBS which is what my first doctor told me. My second doctor has said he is sure i have crohn's. I have had my CT scan now i'm just waiting for my GI appointment to arrive then i should get a diagnosis if anything show's up on the CT scan. I hope this can help in any way.

The tables are by no means a complete or hard and fast list of signs and symptoms, but do give a general idea of the basic distinguishing factors between IBS and IBD.

My prayers go out to all of you.

My understanding is that IBS vs. IBD is a pretty easy distinction as there's no inflammation caused by IBS where IBD (including Crohn's and Colitis) causes inflammation.

So hopefully the CT gives you an answer. Good luck!

That's a good link Monkeyboy1975. I've come across it a couple times before trying to help people on here but never posted it in a thread. Thanks for doing that. :) How did the scan go? Any update?

Trevor, a newer study has found that, "Microscopic inflammation has been documented in some patients." http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/180389-overview#a0104 Nothing like what you see with IBD though.

Hi MonkeyBoy1975 I hope your scan went well. They should be able to diagnose what it is coz they are completely different diseases. Keep us informed on your diagnosis and good luck. x

Thank you for all the support i really appreciate it.I have still not had an appointment though as yet. I'm still waiting to hear back from the results from my biopsy's too. x
