Ibuprophen or ? achilles tendonitis/Crohn's

My son (25) is no longer a kid but I trust you guys so I'm posting here....

He has achilles tendonitis and everything he reads saysn "Take ibuprophen" but his GI doctors have always said, "Don't take ibuprophen."

Is there a good anti-inflammatory med he could take?

Can he safely take some dose of ibuprophen?

He is on Remicade and vitamin/supplements.

I appreciate your thoughts.

The tendonitis of the Achilles is common in spondyloarthritis associated with IBD

Ds has bad Juvenile spondyloarthritis so he is permitted nsaid
But not regular ibuprofen
He uses volteran gel (nsaid ) on his Achilles’ tendon and knees
Plus takes Celebrex daily

It’s hit or miss on which cause GI issues
Mobic was a disaster for ds GI wise

Celebrex low dose is ok
Higher dose causes GI issues

He backpacked 23 miles (2.5 days) in mountains before getting it and then backpacked 15 more miles (3 days) in mountains after he noticed the swelling so it seems to be related to that.

I will look up volteran.

FWIW our GI's have always allowed my girls to use OTC NSAID's for acute injuries. Also, at DDW this year there was a presentation that our GI sent us that said that NSAID's really do not cause Crohn's flares. Used in excess they do cause GI upset but our GI says as long as my girls use them short term they are fine. But of course have him ask his GI.

Yes, my GI told me recently he allows NAIDS up to 14 days a month.
