If colonoscopy looks clear of crohn's, can biopsy show it?

Hello,

I recently had a colonoscopy / endoscopy done and the Dr. Said there were no signs of Crohn's or UC but there was evidence of stomach "irritation". I am waiting on the biopsies she took to come back.

Is it possible for the biopsies to confirm Crohn's or UC even if everything looks clear in the intestine?
