Ileocecal valve Reconstruction

Anyone with any experience with this here?

I have been considering a resection for two years because I am really nervous about potential complications of losing my IC valve... I was even scheduled for surgery at Stanford, but changed my mind.

Recently, I came across the idea of valve reconstruction. I found some articles reporting its success in dogs and a few clinical trials. Why is it not being performed more often.

I would ask my doctor/surgeon this question, but I no longer have insurance and will be looking for charity or Obama-care if I decide to go through with it.

I had mine taken out along with 6 inches of small intesine and 6 inches of colon. My bowel movements are about as normal as u can get....
