I am trying to decide if it is better to keep my ileostomy or have it reversed and do the ileorectal anastamosis any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm assuming you have ulcerative colitis and not crohn's right? With crohn's, this surgery is not an option because of the nature of the illness. What are your considerations or concerns? Personally, I would do it because you never know if its a viable option unless you try. They can always reconstruct a stoma but this can be your chance for a visibility and mostly normal life functionally.

I have crohns disease my rectum was spared and no small intestine involvement they said they could do a take down and connect my small intestine to my rectum. Not sure what to do I would like to be away from the bag but dont want to make matters worst.

I haven't heard of that operation being performed for crohns. With UC its limited to colon and rectum but crohns can attack anywhere along the GI system.
