I've had this for a little over a year now and as of November last year I started dumping just water out my ass. I've gone through most of the drugs... am currently on remicade 1000mg every 4 weeks now and 200mg of azathiprene and I'm still pissing 4 times a day out my butt. I know that's not a huge frequency but the fact that it's not quitting ever is bugging me - and most of my other symptoms have subsided.

My inflammatory markers are almost normal but I'm still living with VERY watery diarrhea every day.

I guess I'm still new to Crohns and want to know if this is just typical Crohns or what.. do you guys have this or know anyone like this?

I have no one to talk to about it so I just don't know what's what - and my DR is pretty ****** with education on the topic.

Thanks

Chris

Hi, the good news is your inflammatory markers ;)

If transit time is being a bummer it could be what you are consuming. What is your diet like? There can be food triggers, like sugar, oils/certain fats. Have you noticed an increase or decrease with things you consume?

Watery D or a Mucous D? If slimy it could suggest inflammation as the guts will try to coat themselves.

It can be confusing, ibd can change symptoms making it difficult to distinguish a flare, a virus, or food upset. Not everyone gets high number lab results, or other in your face reasons.

Ask about taking probiotics, get your b12 checked, and D. Low levels can cause watery D.

I would try to notice if I ate say a whole bag of chips and went wholly cow wheres the loo, or if I ate a banana and went hmmm that's not so noticeable. I don't care what anyone says, diet can effect this and if we slow down and take note it will be much more obvious and hopefully more manageable.

Nutrition (I think) is a big deal with a chronic illness. Foods can strengthen or tear down.
Til then, you probably already know where every restroom is in a 100 mile radios, and have a ooopps kit of a change of clothes with the clean up necessaries. This can help some not feel so panicked helping the guts to calm down. Emotion can trigger more d. Learn how to breath to calm the body.

Try to remember symptoms usually come and go. Fall and Spring can also have a effect on symptoms in some. Hopefully you will feel much better soon.

Be well, God bless.

I feel your pain , I have just started remicade and even though my bm's are getting less frequent , as you said the pissing out your ass is still there for me as well , hopefully as the bm's lessen our output will normalise , well as much as it ever can in our position ,

the great think about this forum is that people get what you are going through and theres always some one around even if its only to listen .

I've kinda watched what I ate for a year. Basically no dairy or raw veggies or fruit. I basically lived off ensure and chicken and rice.
One day recently I said f it and I ordered a huge burrito from a Mexican place. That morning I had my coffee with milk in it and two breakfast sandwiches with cheese...

My bm's didn't differ one bit. Nothing did. All this time I've been eating nothing in fear of something.. I don't know what.. maybe **** coming out my nose... but anyway, when I lost control and ate whatever I felt like, nothing happened.

The only thing that made any difference at all was prednisone. And I was on that straight for about 9 months.

Anyway it's frustrating.

Is this typical for Crohns? Or does EVERYONE find periods of complete remission?

What do you have for previous surgeries?

I have had really watery movements for a long time, and thanks to kidney stones, have actually found some of the answers for myself.

If you are drinking a lot of water, it can cause this. Try easing back a little. Add some imodium once or twice a day. Excess chocolate loosens things for me in a big way. Eat food that slows things down - beef and pork in particular for me - and potatoes. I know that there is also an injectable medication to help slow down bowel functions. Most of the narcotic medications do have a noticeable slowing function, but that clearly is not a day-to-day approach.
