Imodium AD versus Multi-symptom relief

The Imodium AD works like a charm for me and fairly quickly. I haven't been finding them anywhere anymore though and don't want to try the generic equivalent.

I did find Imodium multi-symptom relief which has the same ingredient as the AD plus anti gas medicine. It doesn't work for me though.

You would think its the same thing I don't get why it won't work. Anyone with similar experience or having trouble finding AD?

Did you try imodium soon after and it worked? Just to make sure it wasnt worse or someting different. Apart from that i'd look into the other ingredients to see whats different

No, but I have been taking it daily for months because otherwise I'm running all day. The main ingredient is the same so it should work

In the UK the generic name for Imodium is Loperamide. Never had a problem getting hold of it. I find two capsules a day is enough to stop my digestive system going in to overdrive.

I always buy the Walmart brand of Imodium and find it works the same for me. The ingredients are listed in the exact same order as Imodium, so I know it's the same thing, just a better price.

I'm in the UK and get the generic - loperamide - on prescription from my doctor. I've tried the immodium brand too and they are exactly the same - there's no reason the generic should be different. Except there is a version of Immodium that you don't have to swallow - a little tablet that disolves on your tongue which makes it easier to take, but the effects are still the same.

I find I have to take quite a lot of it for it to help though. Co-phenotrope (Lomotil) seems to be a stronger anti-diarhoea med to me.

The generics have different fillers. Even the multi symptom has different fillers which may be why it doesn't work.

I always assumed generic Loperamide and Immodium were the same.

I actually find the multi-symptom helps me even more because it attacks the gas/bloating. But I am also very sensitive to Immodium in general and can only use 1/2 or 1 pill instead of 2 otherwise I am backed up for days.

Amazon or another similar site might have Immodium AD available...plus you can probably buy in bulk and at a cheaper price.
