Imuran and bug bites?

Has anyone experienced a heightened sensitivity to bug bites while on Imuran (or other immunosuppressants)? I went for a bike ride with 3 other people this weekend and I came home with 22 very big, very red, very itchy bug bites on my legs and back. Nobody else has a thing. I am wondering if I am just having a stronger reaction than normal because of the Imuran. Has anyone else experienced this?

The mosquito bites are really bad and big tihs year. Our daycare kids have tons of huge ones on them.

I've been allergic to mosquitos all my life. I remember in college once, my choir was performing for an outside party on the water in the evening. NO ONE except me was bitten by mosquitos. They always seek me out. They get HUGE and nasty and super itchy even without me scratching. Now I get allergy shots for them and it's not as bad when I get bitten. But I always wear some kind of bug repellant too when I'm out during dusk hours.

Are you sure they're bites?
Azathioprine was toxic for me, ended up full of urticaria (hives) on my legs only, very big, very itchy just like mozzie bites!

REALLY? How long were you taking it? I have been on and off of it for quite a while and this is the first time I had this. They are mostly on my upper thighs and hips around my underwear line, but I have several behind my knees, on my back and one on each breast right where my bra hits. It seems to be in "sweat" areas. Several of the bigger ones have a "head" on them and when I squeeze it a clear, sticky liquid comes out, which is why I am pretty sure they are bug bites. But that is really interesting...maybe I should call my doc. But I will feel like a total idiot if they are just mosquito bites...

Aw Shady that's exactly like mine!
I was on Aza for about 3/4 months then they just erupted! I just put up with them, itching and scratching thinking it was heat/sweat rash (it was Winter!)
when I showed my gastro he just shouted 'OH MY GOD!!!'
And I stopped them straight away. He said it was toxic on my system.
Get them checked Shady, better safe than sorry, but mention urticaria (hives) too.
good luck xxx

I think I'm a little luckier than you, Joan. My bites are clearing up. I guess I was just tasty this weekend
