I've beeN on Imuran for 2 months. During my last visit a couple weeks ago I told the dr I was getting some nausea. My weekly blood work is showing slightly elevated liver function. I'm getting extra blood work, had an ultra sound and waiting for a MRI. I'm starting to get upper abdominal pain. Like someone hit me in the stomach. I've also been getting more tired than usual. I need a 4 hour nap every afternoon. Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi

I was on Imurana for only a 3 weeks then started with being nausea not hungry, and tired all the time and a bad headache. My liver functions were tripled and took 7 weeks to go back to normal. I just started Humara no changes yet for me I hope that I start to see changes soon. Hope you feel better soon!!!

I had a lot of nausea with it.
Immurin put me in the hospital for a week. Be careful it is strong stuff. Is someone covering for your Dr while he is gone?

There isn't a specific specialist to call. I'd have to go to the ER. today hasbeen pretty good. No nausea or pain. Still very tired with no stamina. Anyone experience upper abdominal pain?

My daughter had an allergenic reaction to the Imuran, which we were told was rare, but her symptoms were nausea and vomiting about 4 hrs after taking it, fever and chills and a rash on her forehead. Dr's discontinued the drug.

I'm going to tag a few people to see if any of them have dealt with abdominal pain while on Imuran.

My daughter has had two occurrence of severe pain while on aza. They were both treated as crohn's flair ups and she was put on pred both times.

Her pain is around the middle of her stomach.

Hi
I didn't have pain but did have lots of nausea and eventually I had to come off it as it was affecting my liver. I would certainly ask either your GP or consultant about the type and level of pain that you are getting - just to give you some reassurance. I note that you said your liver tests were slightly raised. How often are you having your bloods done? I was told to do them weekly for the first two months.
Take care and I hope things settle down soon.

Thanks everyone for responding. I am getting weekly blood work. It hasn't been as bad the last few days. Still waiting on the MRI.

My son would get upper abdominal pain and it was treated as crohn's flare, he has some disease located in small intestine and duoudenum but we were still working on getting the right dosage of Imuran at that point, once we finally reached theraputic levels the pain went away but he would describe the same thing like someone punched him. Hope you are able to get MRI scheduled soon and it gives you some answers.

Hi. Doing much better thanks. Started on the brat diet with a few low residue additions. Doctor hasn't been around lately but there is no urgency to talk to him.
