Almost 5 years ago I started having stomach trouble, bloody stool, constant diarhea and was told by several doctors not to worry about it. This past year it has gotten extremely painful and I found a doctor that was willing to help.

So far I've had a colonoscopy, barium CT scan and bloodwork that confirm Crohn's. My doctor plans to start me on Remicade but I will need approval from my health insurance which seems to be taking forever.

I'm currently taking Prednisone and Dicyclomine but they don't seem to be doing anything. The pain is not constant but when it's around it's horrible. I have tried adjusting my diet but it seems that no matter what I eat the pain shows up and I have a hard time sleeping due to the pain.

What's a good way to get rid of the pain? It's so bad that I've had to leave my job because of it and I can't sleep at night due to the pain.

That's something you have to discuss with your doctor. They can prescribe pain medication or there's also medical marijuana depending on your age and location while you wait for your medication to start working (if it works then you may need a different course of meds). There are stickies in the Treatment section that talk about both methods but only your doctor can help you with the pain (contact both your GI and GP, one is bound to help you). Tylenol is also an option, Advil is frowned upon because it can cause further problems (I still take it though).

Sorry for the delay in a reply.
