So I'm sitting on the couch wrapped up in my blanket sobbing my heart out.

For the past 3 days every single time I eat or drink I get unbelievably nauseous, throwing up almost every time i've eaten (dry retching the other times). No more abdo pains than usual and I was starting to feel really good again before all of this hit.

I just don't know what to do. I've tried so many types of anti-nausea medication and none of it works for me. The only thing I have found that does work is whatever they gave me last time I was in hospital through my IV. I'm worried about losing weight from all this again and the fatigue is getting unbearable, yet I can not sleep at all at night until about 5am because I just feel so sick.

And I don't want to go back to the doctors or the hospital because I know the outcome. It's always 'we don't know what is wrong', 'we'll need to do some further tests' (which im still waiting for the hospital to contact me about), give me a new set of medications and send me on my way.

Something is wrong, I just want answers, and I just don't know what to do any more.

Sorry.... just felt like I needed to vent to some people who understand.

aww honey.. I hear you..

Maybe you *should* go back to the hospital if only for the anti-emetic IV.. (which is most probably ondansetron but it's better absorbed i.v styles... I'm the same :-D)

you're probably dehydrated as well which will be making the nausea worse and it becomes a vicious cycle ..

xoxo

do you have someone with you?

So sorry :( That sounds very stressful. Wish there was something I could say that might help. The fear of being out of control of the situation is very hard. I'm not in your shoes but I can understand the feeling of not knowing and continually having symptoms.

Hang in there.

hi Nicole,
Hang in there!
It is one of the most distressful situations and I feel for you.
The ideal would be to return to the hospital and get some treatment and advice.
By now you will be getting dehydrated and the fastest treatment for you is IV fluids
with an anti emetic. It is dangerous to get dehydrated as you probably know.
It it was me I would do it sooner than later.
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes

Update!
Ended up back at my GP's and my blood pressure was really low and I was pretty dehydrated so they put me on a saline drip straight away and gave me a shot for the nausea. They took my bloods again and they showed a slight elevation again in CRP so they reckon it was probably a minor flare but is back to normal now! Eating small ammounts again and started on meal replacement shakes to try get my weight back up because im under 50kg's again now!
Feeling ok today anyways and just have to keep waiting for an appointment to see the gastro-intestinal specialist!

Nicole,

It's easy to say and sometimes very hard to do, but keep positive because this disease has a way of making you more and more upset / depressed if you let it. I have had Crohns Disease for over 20 years and been up and down. It is never pleasant when you flare up and everyone finds their own way of coping. I try to keep drinking little and often and eat something that I really fancy, even if it's only a couple of bites. Also don't be afraid to vent to someone - it does help.

Take care x

When I wad in the hosp a few months ago the nurse put one of those "motion sickness" patches behind my ear. It help with the neausea form my pain meds and really helped. She said it helped for the nausea from alot of diff causes and lasts 3 days.
Do you have anything like that where you live?

I hope you feel better soon!

Lauren
