I am in the hospital and hoping for help to get out. I had a flare 3 weeks ago - my first. There is no blockage just acute inflammation. I am on cipro, flagyl, and prednisone. There is a burning pain on my lower right side as well as cramping and pressure pain. It feels best when my bladder is full. It feels worse when I even just suck ice chips - yesterday 4 ice chips had me in tears for 1 hour. They have me ppo right now. I need to be able to tolerate ice chips so we can move forward so I can eat and drink and go home. Does anyone have any advice, tips, or tricks?

Thank you, I have been here since Thur and am here because I couldn't eat or drink at home. I am desperate to move on.

Ps the other thing is my WBC is higher than it should be.

Sounds to me like you may have a stricture in your terminal ileum, and it's very inflamed. It seems like something I have had and until the inflammation is reduced there isn't much you can do. They have you on all the right meds, so good luck and speedy recovery.....

:welcome: Judy... lseibert is correct. I have been there many times, and do yourself a favour if you are in pain stay in there! If you start to eat you could get a full blockage and there is no worse pain. So many complications from obstructions and strictures. No one likes to be in the hospital. If you cant tolerate water you certainly cant eat food. There has to something else they arent seeing. You are on the right meds it takes time. Keep us posted.

Hey, there I know that it is ruff. I too am in the hospital right now with C-Diff. I have been diagnosed with Crohn's now for one year about, but several years prior had all the symptoms. I agree sound like stenosis in the ileum. I am actually scheduled for a resection a week from tomorrow but may have to push it out a couple days because of the infection I have right now. Hang in there and make sure you have a good GI doc it really could make all the difference.
