Went to ER inback and bleeding. Partial obstruction, given meds and high/hot enema. Still bleeding willsee what doc says tomorrow. Typing hard on Kindle. are enemas standard for partial obstruction? In a small town hospital. Still in pain but getting pain shots every two hours. How do they know if enema helped? when i still have pain and bleeding? Thanks.

Hey heart,

I was given several enemas for a partial obstruction. They knew it worked when it got 'results' and I was sent for a CT scan. It was an awful, awful experience..... symptoms and treatment. But the relief was pretty quick once the obstruction cleared.

I am thinking of you. Hope they manage to sort you out fast.

Oh yeah, and if it is any consolation, I have found small town hospitals generally have lovely staff even if they don't have the best facilities. I hope your experience is the same.

Lots of healing hugs being sent your way....

Still in the hospital. Ate 3 meals. nothing passed. Dr pres another enema and Oral solution. Stool showed in xrays. One nure here warned me about this dr and suggested I go to Nashville. My heart started throwing PVCs does when my iron is down. Dr has No plan but wait. noCT no test just go home. What town are you in? I am in Macon County and I find out small town hosp. to be very capable and friendly, despite all the bad things people tell me. How close to Nashville are you? Hope all works out for you.

Oh my gosh! I've never heard a nurse or doc talk poorly about another one. That would really set me on edge.

Once I had a primary doc that didn't treat a skin infection aggresively enough. It got out of control and I was in the nearest ER. The ER incised and drained and told me to go back to my primary (hey, isn't he the reason I went to you guys to begin with?) So I went back to the primary the next morning who acted like it was no big deal. Too bad he didn't bother to culture it, turned out to be MRSA, but this was a few years ago. By late that evening my leg was swollen up so bad you couldn't see my ankle, most of the skin was red and a huge chunk of skin was black, and I could barely hobble with support. I didn't think that local ER would be very useful, been there done that, so I drove to a university hospital where I was admitted through the ER and kept for a week.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, according to a little surfing around I did, is currently involved in enrolling Crohn's patients in phase III clinical trial of adult stem cell therapy (not fetal stem cell). US News & World Report also ranks their gastroenterology department higher than any other in Tennessee.

Sorry to hear of your situation, but a Kindle would be an awesome thing to have in the hospital. I guess that's one good thing.

Sounds like Nashville would be the best place if possible or even getting into that clinical trial. But you would probably have to live in Nashville for that, don't know the specifics.
