Anyone who knows me, knows I love music of the indie-rock persuasion. I was listening to this record by Diamond Rings... a discovered a fellow Crohnie! And, Canadian, too!! Check out the following review:

I recognise the graffiti, and I'm pretty sure I know the 7-11he's in front of.

Darwin Deez puts on a good show. I saw them open for Bishop Allen before they got signed, the album I bought from them was completely DIY. It was a burned disc in a dvd case, with the track listing taped to the inside.

diesanduhr - I know exactly what you mean, it's not really 'cool' that he has Crohn's, but since we all know the kind of stuff he has had to deal with, and that he managed to put together a pop record - well, that IS pretty cool!!

About Diamond Rings, glad I found out about them now - they're playing a show here next week, not far from my house!! I usually find out about bands just after they've made a stop here...

Bishop Allen's output is insane. The first album was self released in 2002 (I bought directly from them, I was the first person in Canada to own it). Since then they've released 4 more full length albums. There was really log break between the first and second albums so they released an ep a month for an entire year.

Found this interview where he talks about being diagnosed with Crohn's, and how he used his time in hospital to write music (I like the part where he says it was like an art residency - a free one...)
