So things just keep getting crazy for me....I really need a break. I feel pretty good crohns wise, but a new development...and Im not sure what to make of it. Early this week I noticed a swollen lump in my groin...it was painful....but I ignored it. Well over night and into this morning...my pain started to skyrocket and I felt terrible. I called my GP and she got me in to see her NP. The NP did an exam and said "Oh my" and sent me immediatly for ultrasound. The ultrasound showed many inlarged lymphnodes, on measuring 3cms. She told me to wait while she phoned the doc. My doc called me to come back in saying, "we HOPE it a bad infection" so were going to treat you with antibiotics and see...hopefully it will work. And if it doesnt work, then we need to biopsy and possibly surgery to remove the nodes.....WHAT?? Really....so anyone experiece infected lymphnodes with CD? Im just so done with it all....Im incredibly saddened, as I fear its something far worst than what Ive been told. Ive already had a bunch of mesenteric lymphnodes taken out...and now this. So antibiotics for 10 days...and lets hope it works.

Dear Bev,
I am sorry you are going through this. What a bummer. I have not experienced anything of the nature you described above so can't help you there. Just wanted to give my support & send good thoughts your way.
Wishing you good health,
Michele

Wow. That's a big unpleasant surprise!

I hope it IS an infection and totally unrelated to the Crohn's. I had a gyno problem this past summer and was terrified it was CD related. It wasn't - just bad timing! I hope yours is not serious and is cleared up quickly with the antibiotics.

Good luck - keep us posted! - Amy

oh geeze Bev...hope everything turns out ok for you.....a couple years ago my Mom wasn't feeling well (for like a month!), went to the doc and they found enlarged lymph nodes....had biopsies done (while admitted to the hosp).....THANKFULLY they came back negative.....we NEVER did figure out what was going on with her.....and she totally recovered.......hope the same for you - just an infection or something benign.

Oh Bev, I am so sorry to hear you are going through this pain and worry.

I too hope more than anything that the antibiotics will clear this up and it's nothing more serious than that!

Good luck hun. I am thinking about you!

Dusty. :hug::hug::hug:

Hi Bev,

My fingers are crossedfor you, lets just hope it's a simple infection. I've had these things pop-up in my groin and they have gone down over time.

This is something I'm very wary of as I have a family history of lymphoma and a number of the Crohn's meds are a long term gamble.

Thank guys, I feel awful today....low grade fever, pain, nausea and good ol D has returned. Any suggestions?? For me when I get a fever my body temp drop...right now Im at 94.6....feeling like I may start flaring again....I just wana cry

Aww :( My only suggestion and I am not sure if there is anything else is to rest. That temp though does not seem good at all though. If it does get worse or even at what it is at now I would give your doctor a call and let them know. See what they say to do. My doctor says if I reach a certain temp to give him or the other specialist a call.

I hope things work out...keep us posted...and I hope you feel well soon.

Bev,

As far as I know a low temp is not a sign of infection. My personal choice on these sort of days is to take it easy, go back to bed if possible. Take Paracetamol and plenty of fluid. Hopefully, you'll start to feel better soon. If things are not getting better in a day or so, then talk to your GP.

Hope you are feel ing better soon.

Hey everyone, so I ended up in the ER tonight. Things went down hill really quickly. Turned out I have a severe infection due to an IUD. They had to remove the IUD and clean me out really good. They did IV antibiotics and then a booster of another antibiotic. They sent me home with ten days of heavyduty meds....I need to follow up with my GP for further care of my situation. Thank you for your support and kind words of encouragement.
